Homeschool Statistics in the United States

While homeschooling statistics are hard to find we have found a few statistics on homeschool. Last year approximately 1.1 million children were home schooled in the United States.  The number is growing every year.  To view this full report click here. This study is provided by The National Center for Education.  This is a great site for information because it is offered through a government agency.

The National Center for Education did another study which shows the characteristics of homeschool families.  In general the parents who home school had higher levels of education.  The average income of homeschool families vs. non-homeschool families were the same.  To read the full article click here.

There is a lot of support offered from the public school system and recent findings showed that very few home school families were aware of or choosing to accept the support being offered.  This is very sad when in fact we can give our children the best of everything if we are willing to take the better part of all aspects of educational opportunities.  To read more of this study by the National Center for Education please click here.

Another study we found to be very interesting claimed that you cannot really compare homeschool to public school.  If you consider the fact that homeschool children have so much one on one attention and instruction compared to the typical public school classroom.  Click here to read this full article on Homeschool Statistics from the EPAA.
