Homeschooling Books

There are many homeschooling books out there. Here we will discuss a few that we have found useful.

“Home Learning Year by Year” by Rebecca Rupp – This is such a useful book. It gives homeschool parents great insight into building their curriculum each year for their students. The author has a Ph.D. in cell biology and is a homeschooling expert in her own right. She is full of ideas and takes the guesswork out of homeschooling. She has written quite a few books and they are all great but this is our favorite.

“100 Top Picks for Homeschool Curriculum” by Cathy Duffy – This book is like having a homeschool book fair at your fingertips. Cathy Duffy help homeschool parents realize that the only way to successful homeschooling is to find your child’s learning style and then finding the right curriculum and teaching methods to fit that learning style. This is an easy book to use in correlation with other homeschool books because it makes homeschool personalized with the student in mind.

“The Imperfect Homeschooler’s Guide to Homeschooling” by Barbara Frank – This author has homeschooled for over 20 years and has so much to offer her readers. She teaches us how to manage our homes, our lives, homeschooling and all the unexpected things that come up without going crazy. Best of all this book is full of hope, understanding and encouragement. Barbara Frank has a great way of helping you see the good you do even when you think you are failing. A great reminder for all homeschool parents.

“Homeschool Your Child For Free” by Laura Maery Gold and Joan M. Zielinski – This is a must have for every homeschool family. This book is so full of wonderful ideas and ways to homeschool for free. The book only costs around $10 and you will get years of use out of it. It is an outstanding resource for homeschool parents with students of all ages. We all need free homeschool resources and free homeschool curriculum. This is the ultimate guide!

These are only a few of the books out there but they are the ones we have found are tried and true. It’s nice to have so many books out there to choose from to help guide homeschool families.
